Double Breasted Cape Rain Coat (Max Studio, $118)

If you haven’t heard, we’re having some weather here on the Eastern Seaboard.  Something about a hurricane, plus a low pressure system, plus wind gusts weathermen think sound like approaching hoof beats.  But who says you can’t be stylish when the world is ending?

Or something like that.

I think this cape rain coat is totally cool.  Not sure how you keep your arms dry.  Perhaps that’s why it’s on sale, but either way, that’s a lot of style for $120.

Want a traditional yellow slicker?  Try this Festival Trench from Rafael.

Need something a bit more practical, not to mention heavy duty?  Why not buy the same coat worn by the team at The Weather Channel?  The Land’s End Squall Parka is warm and waterproof and comes in petite and plus sizes too.  Did I mention it’s less than $150?

Stay dry.  Good luck everyone.  I have sangria, bottled water and a flashlight, so I think I’m good.

Look for Less

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
