Happy Hour: The Dirty Girl Scout

Oct 19, 2012

While I am firmly on Team Samoa, Thin Mints are delicious.  Frankly, I’m up for anything mint chocolate.  So today’s cocktail is firmly in my wheelhouse.

The Dirty Girl Scout featured on the blog This Bottle of Vodka is made with Bailey’s, White Creme de Menthe and Kahlua.  (I said it was delicious.  I never said it was low-cal.)  So if you’re looking for alternative to serving sweet desserts, maybe a dessert-flavored cocktail is more your speed.

Hazel Long Sleeve V-Neck (Piperlime, $94)

I don’t know about you, but when I have a dinner party, comfort and mobility are important. I do not like when people help me cook (I’m overly particular), and thus, prefer to do it all myself (unless Miss M is there, her exacting standards are even higher than mine).  So I need the freedom to be able to stir a bowl of sauce, while balancing two plates on my arm and taking the temperature of a roast.

Dresses that bind or restrict arm movement are not allowed.  Thank God for jersey.

This dress looks comfortable and like the perfect complement to our Scouting-themed cocktail.  Want more jersey selections?  How about this basic black crewneck dress from Maxstudio ($58) or this plum-colored faux wrap?

Happy Hour

oh man… as an undergrad we would do dirty girlscout shots.

put a little dollop of chocolate alcoholic whipped cream on your hand (or somewhere else, someone elses hands..who knows. seen it all at many-a-holiday frat party), drizzle some hershey's chocolate sauce if you wish – down a shot of peppermint schnapps, lick the whipped cream chocolate thing.

now thats definitely a dirty girl scout. belle's version is much classier.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
