1. Reiss Syria Funnel Neck Jacket ($425) // 2. Made By Girl iPhone Case ($35) // 3. Club Monaco Tamera Scarf in Soot and Nude ($39) // 4. Clinique Almost Lipstick in Black Honey, Flirty Honey and Shy Honey ($15) // 5. Hoss Intropia Aubergine Dress ($200) // 6. Ann Taylor Perfect Canvas Flat ($69)

Polyvore Set Here.

One. Over the years, I have collected more long dress coats than I care to talk about.  What can I say?  Some women like shoes, I like handbags and coats.  Anyway, I’ve decided that I probably need a more casual short coat to wear out campaigning.

I adore this mauve funnel-neck coat from Reiss.  Sadly, four bills is more than I’m looking to spend.  Luckily both ModCloth and Piperlime have coats with a similar shape in a much lower price point.

Two. Last week, I wrote a post about stupid iPhone cases (that damn bunny haunts my nightmares) and many of you asked which iPhone case I ended up purchasing.  Actually, I have three: the case above from MadeByGirl, a lace printed case and this case by Amy Sia.

Three. As autumn approaches, it’s time to start thinking about scarves.  I prefer lightweight ones that can be worn nine months of the year like these scarves from Club Monaco.  The tonal embroidery is fantastic, and they’re such a steal at 75-percent-off.  I’m also in love with this snakeskin-printed scarf from J.CREW.

Four. Black Honey lipstick has been in my makeup bag since I was 15-years-old, and I’m so glad that Clinique decided to add some more colors to the Almost Lipstick line.  It really is the perfect product for women who want a kiss of color without the heavy feel of lipstick.  But if you need your lip color with a side of moisturization, try Fresh Sugar Plum Lip Treatment.

Five.  If I had a signature look, it would be long-sleeved dresses.  They’re perfect for work or dinner out, and they’re so easy and chic.  Perfect for those morning when thinking about what you’re wearing seems like too much work.

This dress from Hoss Intropia is the perfect example of style and ease.  The pleated faux-wrap will help conceal less-than-perfect abdominals, and the deep purple color is just to die for.  But if $200 is more than you were looking to spend, Bluefly has some great options for long-sleeved  dresses like this vibrant blue faux wrap and this boysenberry-colored v-neck dress.

Six.  How perfect are these beige and black cap-toe flats?  Perfect for casual work days, weekends and traveling.  I positively adore them.  Looking less than-$10 on a pair? Target has several color options that are sure to please.

Moey: I don't think it provides a lot of protection, though you can buy ones that do. It will plug into a Bose dock though, don't know about the rest.

  2. Love that Reiss coat! and those scarves. Soo chic.

  3. Kat says:

Just wanted to say that I share your passion for outerwear – I think it's a product of growing up in a colder region.

  4. Chelsea says:

Do you think square toed flats make your legs look shorter?

  5. Belle says:

Chelsea: Depends on the shoe and the person. I didn't find that to be the case with these (I have them in the taupe snake from this summer).

  6. Moey says:

How do those iPhone cases work? Can you plug into docks with the case on? Does it give good protection against dropping (and other bad things we do to our phones)? I have this one and I love it but cannot plug it into docks https://cdn.speckproducts.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/515×475/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/s/p/spk-a1212_glam001.jpg

The Find: A Striped Tee

Without question, the most worn item in my wardrobe is a black-and-white striped tee. I wear it in winter under sweaters, in spring with white jeans, in summer with black shorts. I’ve been wearing the same one for years (it’s the best). But they don’t make it anymore. So here are some options for replacement.

The Find: Like a McCall’s Pattern

When I was young, my Mother used to bring me along when she would go shopping for fabric. As a result, I spent a lot of time, killing time, flipping through pattern books. So when I spotted this dress, I was instantly transported to the pattern table at a Jo-Ann Fabrics.
