Silk Bowtie Blouse (Banana Republic, $79.50)

It’s no secret that I love tie-neck blouses.  They’re feminine, professional and versatile.  They look great with a pencil skirt or jeans or under a sweater.

Today’s Three Ways will be a little bit different, because the outfits will be coming straight out of my closet.  I’m excited for the post, even though taking good photos is not a talent I possess.  Consider yourselves warned.

Wow, I'm really looking forward to this!

  2. That is so exciting. I own the blouse as well – it is such a great fit and color. Excited to see what you do with it. Not only is it hard to take good pictures, but it is also often surprising how much more bland perfectly fabulous outfits can look in pictures. When you look in the mirror you register your full body but also zoom in on details such as bangles, which doesn't happen when you just have one full-body picture to look at. Looking forward to this afternoon!

Belle – do you know if BR runs true to size? or vanity sizing?

  4. Helena says:

A neck-tie blouse should be worn in moderation, unless you want to channel Jane Fonda's character in 9 to 5.

  5. helixy says:

I've never worn or owned a tie-neck blouse.
I've also never had the feeling that I neeeeeed a blouse…

But goodness, I want this so bad it almost feels like need.

  6. Belle says:

helixy: Banana has a sale almost every third day, usually 20-30% off. So check back and maybe get it for less. Why not own a blouse? they go with everything.

Helena: Unless I pair mine with a poofy, permed haircut and gigantic glasses, I think I'll be fine.

And Terri, true to size. But the blouse is a bit sheer so I wear an under layer.

  7. helixy says:

Oh, to revise – I have blouses, I wear them, and they're wonderful. I've just never looked at any specific one that inspired that surge of wardrobe lust where you go, “I need this blouse/those shoes/etc.”
