Giveaway Winner: Toka and Lo & Sons Discount

Jul 31, 2012

Last week, I hosted a giveaway for two $20 gift cards to Toka Salon here in D.C.   The certificates can be used for any service at the salon, at any one of their three locations, but I highly recommend their new Express Blowout that gives you perfectly styled hair in 20-minutes for $40.

The first giveaway winner is…

DC Quarter Life and her biggest hair mistake was “I permed my hair as a sophomore in high school. I loved it for about 2 days and then spent every morning straightening it until it grew out… not such a wise move.”

The second giveaway winner is…

MG whose comment said “I have curly AND frizzy hair–and for the first ten years of my life, my mom would make me endure a perm. In most of my elementary school photos, my hair is in the middle of the photo, with me on the side. Needless to say, I wear my hair straight now!”

Thanks to everyone who entered.  Winners please e-mail me at capitolhillstyle@gmail.com to claim your gift certificates.

Also, if you’re still interested in purchasing a Lo & Sons bag, the company has generously extended their 25% off promo code through August.  So if you’d like one, and haven’t had a chance to buy one, you have another month.  Just use code CAPHILLSTYLE.

The anti-curl sentiment in these comments makes me sad!

Had to search to find this post again — I saw the original post about the bags and I was blown away by your enthusiastic endorsement. I kept it in the back of my mind, since I was interviewing and told myself that I'd buy a Savoy if I got the job. Well, I just found out I got the job, and am thrilled for the extended discount! I will be buying it tonight!

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
