State of the Blog: Sucked into the Anniversary Sale

So here’s the deal. Instead of going home last night to finish this blog, Miss M and I headed out to Nordstrom.  There, I spent too much money, on too much good stuff, that I will hopefully wear until the seams fall out. As a result, I didn’t finish the Polyvore set for today’s post. (bad, Belle, bad)

However, I owe you a set so here’s what we’ll do.  Tomorrow, I’ll put the Two Ways for the Zara heels up at 11:00AM, the Discuss at noon and the Happy Hour at 1:00PM.

Thanks for your patience, see you tomorrow.

xoxo

Belle

P.S. Want to know what I bought?  Look away Mom & Dad, you don’t need to see this.

I was convinced I wouldn’t find anything until we went to the section where they have my current favorite brand, McGinn.  I purchased this black dress wth navy insets and a black tweed blazer with white detail. (Thank goodness for gift cards.)

Also, I bought two pairs of Hanky Pankies with Swarovski crystal Republican elephants on them.  They also have Dem ones and a pair with a flag, for you non-partisan folks.

I also bought several pairs of Commando tights. My favorites (so opaque)They were $22 instead of $34, so I stocked up like a squirrel hoarding nuts for winter.

Are the tights thick enough to be somewhat warm for long outdoor walks in the winter? Meaning all day sightseeing or city wandering…

Very good taste. Love the blazer. The dress seems to be a little on the 'mini' side. Can you refer me to some great midi dresses / skirts? I'm close to 6' and wearing mini skirts and dresses doesn't seem as professional. Any suggestions? Also, too funny….'stocked up like a squirrel hoarding nuts for winter' – I know/loathe the feeling of finding a great find and many color options on discount. Oh, what a joyous feeling 🙂

Ms CReed:The dress is knee length. It's touching the top of the model's knees, so it is in no way a minidress. But if you're worried it might be too short on a taller woman, Lafayette 148 also makes skirts and dresses in mid lengths.

Belle – How do the Commando tights compare to Hue's opaque ones?

    Thanks!

I'd love to see how you style that jacket. It's probably my build, but I can never get those kind of cropped jackets to look right.

Jeanna: I like them better, but Hue is a good substitute.

Beth: Have you tried fleece lined tights?

The dress and jacket are AMAZING. I am going to have to turn off the computer now because I want that dress bad.

Belle- Do you have any recommendations for fleece lined tights? I tried buying some from the internet a while back and when they came in I discovered they weren't seamless. 🙁 Speaking of, are the Commando tights seamless? Or at least seamless enough that they don't resemble a diaper in the back?
