Belle's Weekly Favorites–July 16, 2012

Jul 16, 2012

While doing research for posts (aka online window shopping), I find a lot of great pieces that won’t work for a stand-alone post and it always make me a little sad when I can’t find a home for one of my new finds.  To find shelter for these orphan items, I’ve decided to create a new feature, Belle’s Weekly Favorites.  Splurge or Save will move to Thursdays to make way for this new feature on Monday mornings.

1. Isis Necklace ($140) and Elephant Necklace ($85) from Julie Collection // 2. Mango Patent Tote ($79) // 3. Mango Shiny Messenger Handbag ($25) // 4. Sure Shot ($8) and Penny Talk ($8) Nail Polishes from Essie. // 5. Tocca Scallop Neck Blouse ($179) // 6. Vince Draped Silk Georgette Blouse ($255) // 7. Bobbi Brown Bronzer-Blush Duo ($36)

Polyvore Set Here.

One.  I learned about the Julie Collection in this month’s Lucky magazine, and after visiting their website, I fell in love with their simple, sophisticated pieces.  These necklaces are the perfect blend of dainty-elegance and statement-making chic.  The Isis necklace (at left) has a double strand and a gorgeous chalcedony pendant.  I’m positively smitten.

Two and Three.  If you’re looking for a stylish work bag, I adore this dome tote. The classic shape makes it the perfect basic handbag.  And if your wardrobe needs a burst of sparkle, this flap clutch with a chain strap is a shot-in-the-arm for your evening attire.

Four.  Essie is making the BEST colors right now.  I’m already wearing their blistering-red Lollipop shade constantly, and I just invested in Sure Shot, a metallic raspberry, and Penny Talk, the perfect shade of copper.  At $8 a piece, they’re an inexpensive way to indulge in something new for summer.

Five.  This sleeveless blouse from Tocca is casual and chic.  I love the bright blue scallops and the v-back.  It would look amazing under a grey business suit or with white trousers.

Six.  I love the soft, neutral color of this silk blouse from Vince.  It would pair beautifully with a pencil skirt or a pair of jeans.  It’s a great piece for the end of summer or as a base layer for the colder months.

Seven.  I am a firm believer that Bobbi Brown makes the best blushes–sheer, but highly pigmented with buildable coverage.  This bronzer-blush duo mixes shades of Pink Peony and Bahama Brown to create the ideal face palette for summer.  So if you need a soft, sheer bronzer-blush combo to give you the perfect healthy glow, you need this duo.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
