10th Commandment: July 12

Jul 12, 2012

Still sick.  It’s the flu.  When I told my Brother, he said, “Who gets the flu in the summer?” in a voice that made me think he was Austin Powers asking Random Task, “Who throws a shoe?”

Speaking of shoes…

Flat Jelly Sandal (Zara, $89)

How smooth was that segue? Like sandpaper, right?

Anyway, I own these shoes in the gold and I just bought the black and nude.  Are they comfortable?  It depends on how much you want to walk and if you’re willing to use a Dr. Scholl’s insole.

Without the insole, I can make it a full work day, but I can’t walk the 1.5 miles home in them without being sore upon arrival.  With the insole, I can do both, however, I wouldn’t try to walk more than 2-3 miles in them.  But while they may not be the best walking shoes I’ve ever owned, they are incredibly cute and I love them.

Super cute!! But are they actually “jelly” shoes? In the picture, they look more like suede than plastic, but I can't really tell…

  2. e-liz says:

no they're not. i have them in gold too. definitely not jelly material like the ones from back in the day.

Ugh – I had pnuemonia last summer. I have no idea how that happened. Feel better.

There is definitely a cold or flu circulating the DC area. These shoes look incredibly cute and the price isn't bad either!

I own these as well and find them to be very comfortable! Glad to see them featured on your blog!

Beauty Review: Bondi Boost

As I age, I notice many changes in my body. Most are fine. Some are frustrating. Like many women, I lost a lot of hair in my postpartum phase. Being anemic for more than a year after, it didn’t grow back in to its former glory. So I’ve tried any number of shampoos, pills and […]

The Find: Shirts That Don’t Gape

I remember when Rochelle Behrens launched The Shirt — a button-down blouse with anti-gape technology (a patented internal button that keeps the look smooth). The idea seemed brilliant, but at the time, my bust didn’t require an extra button. One baby later, I understand the need for some extra security.
