Bird Print Blouse (Dorothy Perkins, $49)

I have a long standing opposition to animal prints.  It’s possible that this hatred began in first grade when my paternal grandmother started buying me outfits for my birthday.  One of these outfits happened to be a sweatshirt and legging set covered in calico kittens. I hated it, but was forced to wear it whenever she came to town.  Luckily, that wasn’t often.

Despite my disdain, I purchased an Erin Fetherston bird-print dress on Gilt last year, and I love it.  So I thought that I might use this Dorothy Perkins blouse, which has a similar print, in a Two Ways post.  Check back at 1:00PM for Two Ways to wear this blouse.

Ha I'm pretty sure my grandmother gave me the same outfit one Christmas. In bright pink. The cats had rhinestone eyes. I probably would have loved it if I were 5, but I was 11… My parents told me I should have been an actress based on how well I covered up my disdain for that monstrosity.

Anyway, this top is cute! I like the colors, and that the print isn't too in your face with all that whimsy.

Portlandia ruined birds on anything for me.

The Range: Spring Blouses for Work (or Zoom)

Since Sloane was born, I’ve fallen hard into a black, white, and blue wardrobe. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but as spring blooms, I need a little color in my wardrobe (and probably a little print too). Here are a few tops that caught my eye for work.
