Since Sloane was born, I’ve fallen hard into a black, white, and blue wardrobe. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but as spring blooms, I need a little color in my wardrobe (and probably a little print too). Here are a few tops that caught my eye for work.

That 'Elected Official' dress is PERFECTION. of course it's DVF! I found a Laundry by Shelli Segal DVF knock-off at TJ Maxx (the new one on 13th and F) a few weeks ago, but have always wanted a real one. I have to say, the other two don't hold a candle to it! Especially the intern price point–that looks tacky to me.
FYI: The DVF dress is on sale for $219 at Nieman Marcus today.
Pretty! I have to say, I most certainly do NOT have a “va va voom” figure (think a few extra pounds and no bust to speak of) and typically wear pants and flats. But when when I wear wrap dresses, I certainly get a lot of male attention. I wear them only when I am in a mood to handle that sort of attention.
You may have addressed this before, but what is the best way to accessorize a wrap dress? I'm getting bored with my standard multistrand faux pearl necklace that I usually wear with one (since that seems to fit in the exposed decloatege nicely)… how can I change it up?

Any kind of necklace works. I have a thicker gold chain that looks great.
Wrap, but don't knot, the sash that is on the dress, then put a wide belt over that. I've never been able to make it work for me, but I've seen it on others looking cute. Belle has described this in past posts before.
Also try a cami or slip under the dress to fill in the neckline and protect against over-exposure on a gusty day (I like commando slips for this), and wear longer earrings.
First of all, I really enjoy and learn a lot from this blog. Your taste is great and I love the wit.
But, as an unpaid intern, I can't afford to spend $79 dollars on groceries, let alone a dress, so it has always bothered me when there are recommendations on here for unpaid interns that exceed $50. Considering I'm living off my savings account, I couldn't consider spending anything over $50 on a single item, and that's pushing it. It would have to be something versatile and classic to drop that kind of money.
I feel that if the price of something exceeds $50, it should at least be listed under the title of 'paid intern.' Basically I think it's unrealistic to imply that an unpaid intern could spend that much on a dress. On the other hand, I would love to see recommendations from you that are on trend and are less than $50 for unpaid interns. A working girl has got to eat, but who says she has to look drab while doing it?
Maybe it's a challenge.. but I think you are up to it!
