Happy Hour: A Vodka Citrus Cocktail

Mar 23, 2012

It’s sunny and warm here in the nation’s capital, and I am loving it.  The light humidity that’s crushing my coif, not so much, but the rest of it is awesome.  And it’s sunny days like today that make me want a drinkable cocktail for al fresco drinks on the rooftop patio with friends.

And this vanilla citrus cocktail sounds like the perfect solution.

Vanilla Citrus Cocktail

Makes 2 cocktails

4 ounces fresh grapefruit juice
3 ounces vodka
1/4 vanilla bean
1 ounce lemon juice
1 tablespoon lemon zest
1/4 cup granulated sugar
2 lemon zest spirals for garnish

For the rest of the recipe, please head over to the Whole Foods blog.  I promise that you will not forget it.

Maggie London Two-Tone Sleeveless Dress (Nordstrom, $128)

This dress is as bright and vibrant as they come.  It would be good for a casual wedding, a dinner date or an event like Gold Cup.  I’d add a stack of bangles or a pair of ornate earrings.

Happy Hour

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.

The Range: Spring Blouses for Work (or Zoom)

Since Sloane was born, I’ve fallen hard into a black, white, and blue wardrobe. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but as spring blooms, I need a little color in my wardrobe (and probably a little print too). Here are a few tops that caught my eye for work.
