Giveaway: J.Crew Bracelet Winner and NCAA Pick 'Em

Mar 15, 2012

It’s time to announce the winner of the J.Crew, raspberry-colored bangle bracelet.  As always, I used the Random Number Generator to choose the winner.  Out of the 169 results, entry number 61 claimed the prize.

And the winner of the J.Crew bracelet is…TXAtty who described her worst purchase ever thusly:

A gorgeous pair of Valentino pumps – tan pointed toe stilettos with a black bow that stretched over the back. Wore them to work and they hurt so badly that I had to send someone to CVS to buy me a cheap pair of flip-flops just to make it through the day. They made my feet swell to almost twice their normal size and it took days for them to return to normal. I’ve made plenty of poor purchasing decisions, but this one definitely cost me the most. (But they still sit in my closet so I can at least look at how pretty they are).

Ah, the glamorous item that turns out to be a disaster, I know this fashion disaster well.  There are few mistakes so painful as having a beautiful piece of clothing that can’t be worn because it doesn’t fit or is uncomfortable.  It’s like being Prince Charming and finding out that Cinderella is a Kardashian.

Thanks to everyone who entered. Look for more giveaways in the future.

If you have not yet entered the Capitol Hill Style NCAA Tournament pool, you have until Noon Eastern, or 9:00AM Pacific to enter.  We’re giving prizes to the first three contestants in the form of Birchbox subscritions (I nixed the magazine idea, third place now gets $15 to the Birchbox store.).  So get over there, and enter!

Definitely sent this post to every woman in my office today, just for the Kardashian comment. And also to warn them about buying pretty shoes that destroy your feet.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
