BPGP: The Perfect Shower Sponge

Feb 14, 2012

I’ve been a dedicated bar soap user since birth. Dial, original yellow soap, to be exact.  But in this winter, to fight the plague of dry skin, I decided to switch to a liquid body wash.  This meant that I needed one of those fluffy, brightly-colored puffs that you see in the store.

Frankly, I’ve always thought those shower sponges looked a little silly.  A little too girly for me.  Luckily, a few weeks ago, I read in a beauty magazine that the Dove Men + Care Active Clean Shower Tool ($5) was the best body puff on the market.

On one side you have the standard lather-creating puff, and on the other, a gentle, but powerful, loofah.  It’s perfect for those of us who suffer from mild acne on our shoulders or back.

Allure wasn’t kidding.  This product is great, and there’s no reason why the men should get all the good bath products.  Though this might be the first and last time that I ever say that.

I'm always concerned about how long you can keep a sponge like this before you need it switch it out. Thoughts?

Belle, did you use bar direct on skin? I still marvel at people that do that. A washcloth works wonders (and has since before the advent of loofahs). Gentle sloughing and far less bar soap scum than hand washing. That being said, this sponge looks awesome.

Its funny. The boyfriend has one that I always secretly covet, never thinking to just get one for myself. Will pick one up this weekend. Wish it came in pink. 😉

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
