Zoya + Birchbox + Belle = Ah-May-Zing

Feb 6, 2012

As many of you know, I am obsessed, OBSESSED with Birchbox, the service that delivers deluxe beauty samples to your door each month.  How obsessed?  So obsessed that I get not one, not two but three boxes every month and pay for my Mother’s subscription as well.

Like I said, obsessed.

So two weeks ago when the lovely ladies at Birchbox invited me to participate in a contest where I could win the chance to design my own shade of Zoya nail polish, I jumped at the chance.  (And then frantically called every woman on my speed dial to share the news in a tone of voice usually reserved for a 13-year-old girl just asked out on her first date. Seriously, I was psyched.)

The contest is simple.  Ten bloggers created mood boards to showcase a color that they’re really loving for spring. Voting takes place on Facebook, and the top three bloggers have their mood board turned into a nail polish by Zoya.  Then, Birchbox will put the winning shades up for sale in late April.

Sounds amazing, right?

Obviously, I would deeply appreciate it if you would go vote for my mood board, found here.  For my shade I decided to go with a color that could best be described as copper meets coral.  I wanted it to be bright, bold and appropriate for woman of varyin ages and professions.

Voting begins today and ends next Monday.  You can vote every day, so please do.  (Don’t worry, if you follow me on Twitter or Facebook, I will remind you.  Over and over and over again.)  And, if you’re feelign esp. generous) tell your friends.

I desperately want to win this contest, not only as a boost to my ego, but also because if they don’t make my shade, I’m going to have to start a home business making nail polishes.  So my Land Lady would appreciate your support in her quest to keep the granite countertops in tip-top condition.

Thank you in advance for voting, and if you still have not signed up for Birchbox, you need to join! I have found several great products because of the service including the nail polish I’m wearing, Zoya’s Megan, my favorite eyebrown pencil, my favorite face mask and my favorite body wash.  Do you see why I am obsessed with it?

Now, get out of here, and go vote!

how do you get 3 birchboxes?? That's the greatest idea I've heard this month!

  3. Belle says:

Different email addresses used to set up three accounts. I order the classic via one account, the trendy via the other, etc.

  4. Jessica says:

Can you still send invites? Because birchbox is on waitlist…

  5. Tracy says:

Love it Belle! Voting and set a reminder to do it daily!

  6. Belle says:

Jessica: I tried sending an invite, and I get the same wait list message. When I signed up, way back when, I was on a wait list too, but it was only for two weeks or so. Hopefully, it will be the same this time. I think it's a wait list until they get ready to order for the next month.

  7. KLM says:

Great color, Belle! (Although you do have some tough competition 🙂

  8. JA says:

Beauty Review: Bondi Boost

As I age, I notice many changes in my body. Most are fine. Some are frustrating. Like many women, I lost a lot of hair in my postpartum phase. Being anemic for more than a year after, it didn’t grow back in to its former glory. So I’ve tried any number of shampoos, pills and […]

The Find: Shirts That Don’t Gape

I remember when Rochelle Behrens launched The Shirt — a button-down blouse with anti-gape technology (a patented internal button that keeps the look smooth). The idea seemed brilliant, but at the time, my bust didn’t require an extra button. One baby later, I understand the need for some extra security.
