For Weekend Brunch. My style is a bit more subtle than yellow neon. But a splash of bright on the shoes is totally doable. For this outfit, I added the shoes to an ensemble of great basics.
Skinny jeans with a flowy cotton or silk blouse is my go to casual look for chilly March weekends. Add a loose weave scarf for warmth and style for an outfit that is pulled together but casual. This outfit would also be perfect for a plane or train ride.
For the accessories, I mixed in a structured tote in cognac leather. I also added some interesting hoop earrings to give it a slightly bohemian vibe.
For the hair, I would say either a top knot or loose waves. For the face, light weekend makeup with a punch of bright blush like Nectar from Bobbi Brown.
For Cocktails with Friends. This is not a date look, because as Miss M would say, it’s “girl cute” not “guy cute.” But it is the perfect outfit for a night out with the girls, sipping wine and talking shop.
Again, I kept to a neutral palette (but briefly considered doing emerald green ankle trousers). This sweater has a neckline that you don’t see much but would have all the benefits of a classic scoop neck. And a pleated ivory skirt (esp. one that costs less than $925) would be a good staple to have as we transition from winter to spring. You can wear it will tall boots now and heels and flats and sandals in the spring.
For the accessories, I chose brass tones instead of silver or gold. I wanted a slightly muted metallic. The clutch is actually a laptop case, so it’ll be big enough to hold all your essentials.
For the hair, a cool, loosely twisted updo (again, girl cute not guy cute). And for the makeup a plum cheek, taupe eye and lightly tinted lip.
More on the topic of girl cute vs. guy cute would be very much appreciated!
Great find on these shoes! I will be running to my local Old Navy after work in search of the yellow. I also second SLL's comment- very interesting topic!
Ann Taylor makes some neon toe cap flats as well (I belive they have hot pink and cobalt blue).
