Two Ways: Leopard Print Skirt

Jan 12, 2012

Skirt: Animal Print Pencil Skirt (Banana Republic, $90)

From Left, Bag: Furla Soho Bauletto ($375) Shoes: Dolce Vita Notty Pump ($72) Necklace: Black Crystal Collar ($85) Sweater: J.Crew Jackie Pullover ($65)

From Right, Bag: Gray Clutch ($22) Shoes: Jean-Michael Cazabat Pumps ($335) Earrings: Devora Libin Quartz Drops ($90) Top: Anglomania Angel Knotted Top ($460)

For the Office. It’s a simple look, but sometimes, that’s what you need.  The collar necklace and the purple pumps perk it up a bit, but this is the kind of outfit that you throw on when you’re running late and need to get dressed quick but look like you gave it some thought.

The Jackie cardigan from J.Crew is a Capitol Hill Style favorite.  So the Jackie pullover is bound to become a staple.  I just ordered three of them.  I hope it lives up to my dreams of finding the perfect basic pulli.

I love this bag.  It looks like a bowling bag, but it’s fabulously chic.  Sadly, no internal pockets, which seems like a crime.

For the makeup, a neutral day look with matte grey eyeshadow.  For the hair, a bouncy ponytail or down embracing your natural texture.

For a Night on the Town. Let’s start with the shoes.  The perfect shade of dark pewter with a snakeskin effect on the leather that makes them really special.  These are guaranteed to make any outfit sexier.

The blouse is urban and industrial and will show off your shoulders and collar bones.  And as Donna Karan says, your collarbones never age.  Instead of a bra, wear this with some pasties like Hollywood Cover Ups.  The clutch and the earrings complete the modern, evening look.

Hair must be up to show off your shoulders.  You also need smoky eyes and a shiny, berry gloss.  I’d also paint my fingernails dark purple or black.  I like Tokaido Express from NARS.

Have the sweater, have a variation of the pump, skirt on the way, NEED the necklace – hoping to rock this look soon

I continue to be amazed at how much I wear my purple pumps. They were totally a spur of the moment purchase, but I am so glad I did it. They really add a spark to out outfit without being completely over the top.

A few months ago, my husband killed two of my plants. I was out of town for several weeks, and while I was away, he apparently forgot that plants need water to live. So when I returned, my snake plant and my Calamondin tree were both dead, while his braided money tree continued to thrive. […]

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
