Jason Wu for Target

Jan 11, 2012

While the Missoni for Target collection was just ho hum, I am extremely excited for their upcoming collaboration with designer Jason Wu.  Unlike the designer’s monochromatic and edgy runway collection, his Target collaboration is playful and filled with bold pops of color.  Here are some of my favorite pieces from the line:

In addition to these pieces, the line includes more flirty spring dresses, several cute handbags and a selection of scarves.  Pieces range from $19.99 to $59.99 for clothes and $19.99 to $49.99 for accessories.  These photos are from Fashionista.com, so if you want to see the rest of the collection, head over there.

I already have a shopping list going and will be online to shop precisely at midnight.  Hopefully, Target has purchased some extra bandwidth and server capacity.  Because from the looks of the collection, eager shoppers will likely flood the site on reveal day.

  1. Agree, this looks far more exciting that Missoni for Target which was more or less just a cheapened version of the brand's usual look/style.

  2. CatG says:

They look adorable but the biggest question in my mind is the quality of the fabric. I'm worried it will turn out to be really really cheap…

  3. Nina says:

I will probably shop in store to test the hand of the fabrics and the length of those lovely dresses. Plus, the sizing in the Missoni collection was super weird (haters to the left, I loved the Missoni collection). I got a large in a zip up sweater, a small in a button up shirt, sz9.5 for the flats, and sz8.5 for the pumps.

  4. EAC says:

Some of the pieces look cute. I know Belle doesn't have anything to do with the styling, but good Lawd, what is up with the little anklet socks? I think this look is more juvenille than the Hello KItty stuff that Belle ranted about.

  5. Belle says:

On the topic of fabric: I think we'll be talking Zara/H&M quality, which for a summer piece should be fine. I don't really see these as investments, but I'm with you on the feel of the fabric. It's one thing to be cheap, it's another to feel like a plastic bag.

  6. Rachel says:

Cute! (You really do love the nude sheer blouses, don't you, Belle?)

I second the WTF regarding the ankle socks. So strange.

  7. T says:

    anklets with heels are back?!?!?!

  8. molly says:

when is the collection out? has anyone had any experience with shopping for the designer collections at the columbia heights target? suggestions? help. i'm useless.

  9. Maharani says:

Seriously-is this work attire? The ankle socks are off putting and inappropriate and the bare legs dont look great either. Skirts are all too short. Might work for a temp or a student but not if you want to be taken seriously in the work place.

  10. Belle says:

Maharani: I wouldn't consider any of this work attire. It's weekend attire or maybe casual Friday attire. And just because he styled the look with ankle socks, doesn't mean you have to wear the ankle socks.

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
