Hot Pink and Thigh High

Nov 29, 2011

One of my favorite looks from the 2011 Met Gala was Brooklyn Decker’s stunning hot pink, Michael Kors gown.  I mean, come on, how can you not swoon for this dress?

So when I spotted a nearly identical gown on TopShop’s website, I knew that I had to have it.

Thigh Split Maxi (TopShop, $100)

Where will I wear it?  The better question is, where won’t I wear it?

A winter gown?!? Impossible to find and in Pink no less! Delightful.

Eek! I know you probably don't do this, but could you post a shot of yourself in this. Or find a real person in it. I want to see how it stands up compared to the MK version. Love it!

Ah, wouldn't that be awesome? But I think this particular blog is more about the “tell” than the “show” (bc of its anonymous nature). Sigh. Visual aids (for sartorial inspiration, never exact duplication!) are always nice though aren't they?

  4. Amy says:

I absolutely love this dress, but agree with the previous posters- what does it look like on women with a little bit of badonkadonk?

  5. Rachel says:

Seriously though – where will you wear it? Can I come, too?

  6. DC Celine says:

This. Is. Fabulous. I agree. You'll wear it everywhere. It's your new signature (or would be mine).

Question is: Have you worn it yet?

Question is #2: how will you accessorize each time?

  7. Alouette says:

    J'ADORE!!

    So stylish.

The Find: A Striped Tee

Without question, the most worn item in my wardrobe is a black-and-white striped tee. I wear it in winter under sweaters, in spring with white jeans, in summer with black shorts. I’ve been wearing the same one for years (it’s the best). But they don’t make it anymore. So here are some options for replacement.

The Find: Like a McCall’s Pattern

When I was young, my Mother used to bring me along when she would go shopping for fabric. As a result, I spent a lot of time, killing time, flipping through pattern books. So when I spotted this dress, I was instantly transported to the pattern table at a Jo-Ann Fabrics.
