10th Commandment: September 7

Sep 7, 2011

Now that Labor Day is over, it’s time to stock up on Fall basics.  This year, I am finally going to buy a camel pencil skirt.  I don’t know why it took me so long, but this is the year.

I’ll wear the skirt with black, ivory and chocolate separates.  I also wear it with my navy blazer, my hunter green cardigan and my eggplant sweater.  However, this does mean that I’ll need to track down a pair of chocolate brown boots.  Now, where did I hide that credit card…

Belle, please please do a post on boots! I have such a hard time finding the right ones, and really need to find black and brown this year. Guidance would be appreciated on flat/low heel boots especially, as I cannot commute in high heel boots. Thanks!

  2. Daniela says:

Are you getting one of these three skirts? If so, which one?

  3. Amy says:

I don't have it in camel, but I do own that Halogen pencil skirt in several other colors and it is wonderful! Both comfortable and flattering.

  4. Ellie says:

Halogen skirts run huge in my experience.. size down one or two !

  5. L says:

Hey Belle– I am totally ordering this… Looking for a matching blazer– do you know if there is one?

  6. Anon says:

Belle, can you do another post on buying the right size pencil skirt? I'm not a large woman overall, but I am pear shaped, and I avoid pencil skirts because I don't want to make an already substantial part of my body look larger. I love the look of pencil skirts on other people, but I hate it on myself.

  7. Charlotte says:

I actually just returned that Halogen skirt because it was so unflattering. Most pencil skirts work great for me, but the cheap fabric made it a decided exception. Don't bother.
