Happy Hour: Going to the Dogs

Aug 19, 2011

I’ve been wanting to post this recipe for awhile, but it’s so labor intensive that I almost didn’t.  I like easy cocktails.  The kind that you can throw together after a long day, and sip idly in a comfy chair.  But let’s just say that the Salted Tarragon Greyhound is not simple and easy.

This recipe is courtesy of the lovely ladies at Coco + Kelley who know good fashion and good libations.

The Salted Tarragon Greyhound

Grapefruit tarragon infused vodka*

*This is where the high-maintenance part of this cocktail come in. Anytime, I have to infuse a liquor or make a syrup, the cocktail falls into special occasion territory.

Freshly squeezed ruby red grapefruit juice, strained of pulp and seeds
Flaky sea salt or kosher salt
Agave nectar
Ruby red grapefruit wedges, for garnish

Preen Jenny Belted Dress (Net-a-Porter, $555)

A special occasion cocktail deserves a special occasion dress.  This frock from Preen is such a dress.  Pair it with a pile of silver bangles and a chic updo for end-of-Summer parties.

Happy Hour

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
