State of the Blog: Happy Birthday

Next Sunday is my 29th birthday. My Golden Birthday, or so they say. But since I plan on turning 29 several times–I’m lucky enough to look 25, so I should be able to cook the numbers for a few years–it’s not that big of a deal.
My family doesn’t really do birthday gifts. Mostly because I’m particular, and it’s just easier to send cash. So every year, I buy myself a gift, something that I’ll really enjoy.
This year, I sat down to look for a gift on the Internet, but I couldn’t find anything. So I started to think about what I really wanted. What would make me happy or at the very least, bring me some joy. And then it came to me…
I’d like a break.
I love writing this blog. I love chatting with all of you. But sometimes, when I’m sitting at my desk typing, I start to think about all the things that I could be doing instead.
So this week, as a birthday gift to myself, I’m taking a little break. Don’t worry, I’m not abandoning you completely. I’m just going to cut back to one post per day. This way, you get fresh content, and I get a mini-break.

Happy 29th birthday on the 29th! My 32nd birthday is Saturday. Turning 29 was a little daunting for me, but turning 30 was A LOT of fun! Enjoy your much-deserved break and keep up the great work! I love reading your blog!

I didn't appreciate it when I was getting carded for R rated movies, but I definitely appreciate looking younger now. I've been 35 for 8 years now.

You inspired me to start my own beauty blog but, to be honest, it's been hard to keep up a regular posting schedule… Every time I get off track (which is often) I consider the fact that you post three times per DAY – I'm just aiming for three times per week! – and it generally kicks me back into gear. So, thank you for setting the bar high!
That said, you definitely deserve a break! Cut back to a single, fabulous, insightful and downright-funny post (as always are) and I will still consider you a role model. Here's a toast to you – your first of many 29th birthdays, and to hoping that one day I, too, can claim to post once per day!
