Happy Hour: A Belated Cinco de Mayo

Rachel Roy Drape Tulip Dress (ShopBop, $595)

This dress reminds me a bit of a serape with it’s colorful striped print.  I also love the draped skirt, good for pear shaped people.   I, however, would add a real leather belt in either red or black.  And also a shoe that doesn’t make it look like you have cloven hooves instead of feet.

Speedy Chihuahua

Ingredients:

3 lime wedges
salt for rimming glasses
ice cubes
4 fluid ounces of white tequila
1 fluid ounce orange flavored liqueur (such as cointreau)
2 limes, juiced
8 fluid ounces grapefruit juice
3 splashes club soda

Recipe:

1.  rub a lime wedge around the rims of 3 margarita glasses, and dip each glass rim into salt.  place ice cubes into each glass.

2.  mix together the tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice, and grapefruit juice into a pitcher, and pour into the glasses over the ice.  add 1 splash of club soda to each glass and serve.

Despite the fact that it’s named for a small, yippy dog, this cocktail is really delicious.  It’s also perfect for a post Cinco de Mayo celebration. Tequila and grapefruit juice, yay!

That dress is completely amazing!! And even though I did drink a little too much tequila last night, that drink still sounds delish. 🙂

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

The Range: Spring Blouses for Work (or Zoom)

Since Sloane was born, I’ve fallen hard into a black, white, and blue wardrobe. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but as spring blooms, I need a little color in my wardrobe (and probably a little print too). Here are a few tops that caught my eye for work.
