Happy Hour: A Bohemian Spring

Mar 18, 2011

If there was one word that has never been used to describe me, it would be Bohemian.  The flowy, free spirited styles don’t really appeal to me.  (That’s Miss M’s territory.)  I prefer my style simple and structured.  So imagine my surprise when I fell hard for a dress by Halston Heritage the undisputed king of 1970s-chic.

Halston Heritage Wide Neck Sash Dress (ShopBop, $325)

The soft mauve color, the wrap skirt, and the slouchy fit make this dress the perfect combination of tailored elegance and boho style.  It’s also the perfect choice for this warm weather that we’ve been having.  And speaking of warm weather…

The Pimm’s Cup may be the perfect spring cocktail.  It’s fizzy, it’s fruity and it’s refreshingly sip-able.  Just pull up a chair for some al fresco day drinking and praise the return of the warm weather.

Pimm’s Cup

Ingredients

2 oz. Pimm’s
Ginger beer
Sliced cucumber
Sliced lemon wheel
Strawberry slices
Mint (Optional)

Muddle strawberries, lemon and mint in the bottom of the glass.  Fill with ice.  Add Pimm’s, cucumber spear, and ginger beer.  Lightly stir, add straw.

Happy Hour

  1. That dress is gorgeous. Halston Heritage huh? Was SJP in on this little number?

  2. Terri says:

How I wish I still had in my possession my halston dresses from the 70's. This dress is very reminescent. (slight tearing and sigh)

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
