Time for the District Sample Sale

Mar 1, 2011

I love a good sale.  And if you live in Washington, D.C. there is no better sale than the District Sample Sale.

Each year, dozens of local boutiques bring their seasonal wares to DSS to settle up their bottom lines and offer shoppers amazing deals.  Tickets to the sample sale cost $100 for VIP and $40 for General Admission.  The VIP ticket allows you early entry into the sale and an awesome goodie bag.

The ticket price is donated to a local charity.  This year’s choice is the E.L. Haynes Public Charter School.  So you can be fashionable and charitable.

The sale is March 29th, but if you love a great deal, make sure to buy your tickets today! They sell quickly.

  1. You know how if you look at something you wrote like 500 times, you just don't see the missing stuff anymore? Yeah, that. Sorry for not including this (obviously basic) info!

I just added this info to our home page (you may need to refresh the page to see). We also have a discussion board on our Facebook page which answers questions re: sizing, etc.: https://www.facebook.com/pages/District-Sample-Sale/110709904355#!/pages/District-Sample-Sale/110709904355?sk=app_2373072738

Thanks and hope to see you on March 29!

The District Sample Sale website is not very helpful. Where is it? What are the hours? When do women start lining up? Also, I am not from the the north east or cali, sample sales are new to me. Are the clothes only sample sizes? (If I am a 4/6 is this worth it?)

    Thank you!

Just bought my VIP. Thanks for looking out, Belle 🙂

Allison- Thes stores bring whatever they have to sell, so there are all sizes. This is like Gilt Groupe in person.

It's held in a building at 21st and L. Women line up at about 4:30 or 5 for the VIP hour. General Admin can't enter until 6:30, I don't know what time they line up. the sale runs til almost 10, but I'd be there earlier.

Thank you very much for the info!

Saw It On Social: Rooted

A few months ago, my husband killed two of my plants. I was out of town for several weeks, and while I was away, he apparently forgot that plants need water to live. So when I returned, my snake plant and my Calamondin tree were both dead, while his braided money tree continued to thrive. […]

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
