Happy Hour: Light and Airy

In the coming seasons, maxi skirts are going to be huge.  And while I’m not sure if I’ll be working this trend into my daytime wardrobe, I’ve always loved the look of a satin or chiffon maxi with a white blouse or tank for evening/cocktail.

Asos Waterfall Skirt ($55)

Keep in mind that this skirt is 48″ long, so it will be plenty long.  If the model wasn’t 5’11”, it would certainly touch the floor instead of being ankle length.

With such a light skirt, I thought I would try an equally airy cocktail.

The Snowball Cocktail

2 oz Brandy

1 oz simple syrup

1 egg (yes, egg)

Ginger Ale

Ice for chilling the shaker.

Add ice, brandy and simple syrup to the cocktail shaker.

Crack the egg into the shaker.  Yes, the whole egg.

Shake it like a Polaroid picture.  I mean, seriously, SHAKE IT!  And shake it some more, until all the egg is dissolved and the drink is frothy.

Strain into a tall glass (the pic is in a Martini glass, but I prefer a Collins), and add ginger ale.  Slowly.  Seriously, slowly.  Unless, of course, you like scraping sticky, sugary, protein-laced schmutz from your counters.  Which, trust me, you won’t.

I'm pretty sure maxi skirts were ALREADY huge. I actually think that they are probably on the way out.

I think these skirts are not intended for the short and curvy. I'd only wear one in the summer w sky high strappy wedge sandals.
