10th Commandment: February 8

Feb 8, 2011

A few years ago, I traded in my beloved high heels for flats while I recuperated from a injury.  Despite my previous love for any shoe that made me taller than my male co-workers, the flat changed my life.

Suddenly, I could walk fast enough to keep up with my Boss.  I didn’t need to spend time each night soaking my feet in Epsom salts.  I no longer clacked as I walked down the marble halls. (I could sneak up on people again!)

And so, even after I had healed, I kept wearing flats two to three times per week.

In regard to flats, I espouse only one rule: Boring flats aren’t chic.  To this end, I own a red pair, a gold pair, two patterned pairs and now a tortoise shell pair.  Seriously, how cute are these?

    Beyond cute!

I had a similar experience…an ACL tear and reconstructive surgery. I too was so upset about not being able to wear heels! But then it wasn't so bad 🙂

I had those in my cart to order last weekend…but couldn't decide if they would be comfortable or not. How do they fit/feel?

  4. MG says:

I tried to order these, but it wouldn't let me. Are they only available on the weekend?
Anyways, more examples of fashionable flats would be very welcome as I am extremely fashion challenged and have to wear flats to stay alive at my job. Please keep the examples coming. Love this one!

I have never had a pair of comfortable flats. I've bought adorable ones, but can't wear them because of high arches and nail issues from ballet in the past. I end up going for a heel or short wedge to avoid blisters. I seriously need wearable ones – even more with spring coming soon! Suggestions? Favorite brands?

The Find: A Versatile Sweater Jacket

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

The Range: Spring Blouses for Work (or Zoom)

Since Sloane was born, I’ve fallen hard into a black, white, and blue wardrobe. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but as spring blooms, I need a little color in my wardrobe (and probably a little print too). Here are a few tops that caught my eye for work.
