While I wear a lot of cardigans (usually over sequined tops), I almost never wear sweaters otherwise. Something about a sweater and a skirt/pants just feels so unfinished. And I have to admit, I get a case of the sleepies whenever a see someone in a pair of black trousers and just a crewneck sweater. I just want to climb up on a soapbox and, “Give me something more!”
So when I saw this adorable, vintagey sweater on ModCloth, I fell in love with it immediately. The bow is cheeky, the buttons on the cuffs are cute, and it’s just so pretty. No one could honestly say that it’s just a sweater. So toss away that boring v-neck and try this!
Belle, totally agree with you! I own tons of sweaters, but never end up wearing them to work because I feel under dressed… no matter how much jewelry I layer on.
This is super cute indeed but after visiting the reviews Modclothe's site, it reaffirms my feelings toward the outlet — most things are moderately priced but poor quality. And isn't that what we're trying to get away from at this stage of our lives? I am trying to spend my money more wisely on better quality goods that will last longer and hang/wear better. Maybe I'm wrong…what are others' thoughts?
@ Sarah: I totally agree with you! I love love love the clothes on Modcloth, but whenever I order something from there it seems to fall apart almost as soon as I wear it. I use the site as inspiration instead!
I have had hit-or-miss experiences with ModCloth, which I suppose is due to the fact that they use different vendors. I'll swear them off for a while, see something I really love, order it, have it be good quality, then shop there again for a few months until I get a few lower-quality items, starting the whole cycle again.
Oh, and this sweater is adorable!
Would be great if you did a post on how to dress up a sweater and slacks. (Ew, that sounds like a gramma word.) Anyway, I lvoe a crewneck cabled sweater. I've done that combo with pants before. How would you dress it up? A scarf? Brooch? (Another gramma word! Dang it!). I can't quite do the sweater+jacket combo. Too bunchy and hot.
I have a sweater similar to this, but in a navy blue. It is really lovely, and many people ask where I bought it from!
