A few months ago, my husband killed two of my plants. I was out of town for several weeks, and while I was away, he apparently forgot that plants need water to live. So when I returned, my snake plant and my Calamondin tree were both dead, while his braided money tree continued to thrive. […]
It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.
Inside the reader mail bag there are questions about summer beauty, hiring a personal shopper, navigating a sudden breakouts, and more. Let’s dig in!

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
Try as I might, I just can't get behind the bootie trend. And I will never understand peep-toe booties.
Eeek. I'm all for booties but believe studs belong only on items that are meant to give off the punk-rock vibe. Flat head studs remind me of what I hated about the 80's. Especially on light tan or peep toe booties.
I hate the peep toe booties, but love the other options. peep toe booties are the current oxymoron of fashion
I can't get behind booties, either, and peep-toe booties in particular.
Booties can be cute (see the last pair here). Peep-toe booties, not so much.
Also, what does it say about me that lately I tend to like the cheaper options better in the 10th commandments posts? Maybe I just have cheap tastes…
Hey lulu – it means that you are developing an eye for what looks great that transcends pricetag. I like those the best too.
I love the Candelas, and I love booties. In fact, I think I need a 12 step program for booties. Lovely blog!!!
Not a look I think most female elected officials would be anxious to embrace.
Perhaps Sarah Palin, but despite her presence she's not elected.
