Belle's Fall Five: Shoes

Aug 24, 2010

To ease into cold weather fashions, I’ve decided to post the pieces that I’m lusting after this Fall.  Will I buy them all?  Of course not.  Unless I hit the lottery, get promoted to Chief of Staff, or find a sugar daddy out West, affording more than a handful of these pieces will put me into the poor house.  But a girl can dream right?  So let’s begin with Belle’s Five Fall Shoes.

Ciao Bella Toni Boots (Piperlime, $149)

I bought these boots last Fall, and I wore them approximately 3,000 times.  They are extremely comfortable (rubber sole), the perfect shade of cognac, and so versatile that you can wear them with anything.  If you the means, I highly recommend picking these up.

Boutique 9 Denya Bootie (Nordstrom, $130)

I really like the idea of the see through bootie because one of my biggest complaints about most booties is that they are too heavy.  The sheer fabric combats the heaviness and adds a bit of sex appeal.  These would look great with a cocktail dress, a pencil skirt and blouse or a pair of skinny jeans.

Joie Louie Slip-On Brogue (Cusp, $198)

This Fall, I will definitely be purchasing a pair of laceless brogues.  I like the lace up Oxford but it’s a bit heavy for every day wear.  These slip-ons can be worn easily with jeans or flirty, jersey dresses.

Clara Platform Pumps (J.Crew, $325)

Ever since Alison posted these on the site a few weeks back, I have been obsessed with them.  I love the bow detail, it’s feminine without being too girly.  These sophisticated pumps would be perfect with a simple black suit or with a chiffon blouse and jeans.

Nixon Short Boots (Piperlime, $69)

I’m not really sure about the short boot trend, but it’s growing on me.  I like the soft taupe color of this pair and the metal button detail.  I think they’d be really cute with a flirty, printed dress or a t-shirt and knife-pleated skirt.  Just make sure to look at them in the mirror when you try them on.  The last thing you need is a boot that cuts you off in such a way that they give you cankles.

Ohhhh, your shoe blogs are by far favorite of all your postings! Now if only I can manage to stop drooling over the Ciao Bella boots, dreaming of fall weather, and get back to work…

I prefer the brand Corso Como over Ciao Bella. When I first purchased my Cognac boots, I tried out all brands — but in the end, Corso Como provided me with the best value and quality. These are the ones I bought https://shop.nordstrom.com/S/2983601 They have a padded footbed, smoother/richer leather, and (surprisingly) their leather soles have lasted me two harsh winters despite wearing them all the time.

However, if you're on a tight budget, I suggest ordering Ciao Bella's from discount stores like DSW. I found this great pair (DSW still has all sizes online) for only $99 and it is only slightly different than the one Belle posted. Enjoy!

DSW has the cognac Ciao Bella boots in their stores right now for $99, and $15 off if you're in their shoe club or whatever it's called!

The Find: A Striped Tee

Without question, the most worn item in my wardrobe is a black-and-white striped tee. I wear it in winter under sweaters, in spring with white jeans, in summer with black shorts. I’ve been wearing the same one for years (it’s the best). But they don’t make it anymore. So here are some options for replacement.
