Fitness Fashion Week: Yoga Style

Jul 20, 2010

Recently, I found myself back at the gym after many years absent.  And while the exercise trend has flipped from spinning classes to boot camps, the terrible fashions remain the same.  It never ceases to amaze me what typically stylish women will wear when slumming it at the gym.

This week, we’ll be featuring stylish gym outfits, tips, and product reviews.  Because looking good isn’t limited to the office, and just because your sweating doesn’t mean that the gym needs to be a fashion dead zone.

Triple Strand Headband (Athleta, $14)

It’s really important to keep your hair out of your face during yoga.  And while most stretch headbands can keep your locks in check, this headband actually wicks away moisturizer to keep sweat from pouring down your face.  This is especially important when doing hot yoga.

French Terry Hoodies (Old Navy, $12)

Women’s Running Tanks (Old Navy, $15)

Foldover Yoga Pant (Victoria’s Secret, $20)

These are by far and away my favorite yoga pants.  First off, they wear like iron.  I get three to four years out of each pair.  Second, they are really comfortable.  And third, you can buy them in different inseam lengths so that you don’t end up with a pair that is too long.

Puma Sabadella (Piperlime, $50)

    Very cute yoga outfit bella!

Here is my fitness conundrum- Rugby. It is hard to be cute covered in dirt and getting tackled.

  2. Maggie says:

I love that those tanks come in tall! I’m 5’11 and have a long torso. I don’t know if I’ve ever been able to find gym tank long enough, I normally resort to an old t-shirt. I would have never thought to look at Old Navy – thanks for the find, Belle!

  3. Sarah says:

Refreshing! Great post, Belle. Hope to see more. Always have a difficult time trying to figure out what to wear. Most of the outfits that I find that are cute are either 1) too low cut or 2) not enough support for my chest.

Another month has come and gone, and between a busy work schedule, illness and the search for new childcare, I almost forgot to ask for questions for the AMA.  Luckily, I remembered late last night.  So here we go. I always think it’s funny when people send rude or overly personal questions when I put […]

I love stocking stuffers.  They are the best part of Christmas.  There’s just nothing quite like an affordable gift that’s funny or useful or chic (or maybe all three).  So here is Part One of my stocking stuffer gift guides, where nothing costs more than $30.

Add to Cart: Five Recent Amazon Purchases

Since my daughter was born, Amazon has claimed so much of my money that I had to buy stock just to get some of it back.  Between the formula, onesies, fruit pouches, diapers, wipes, and ever evolving list of baby development gear, I could not survive without Prime.   My husband no longer notices the […]
