Belle's Faux Pas Are Breeding

Ugg Austrailia Duck Shoe (Nordstrom, $90)

If a topsider and an Ugg Boot mated, it would look something like this.  Blech. Clearly, this is the next step in the Faux Pas quest for world domination.

What’s next?  Shearling Crocs?  Oh, wait…

  1. What?!?!? says:

These are awesome! What are you talking about? No faux pas here!

  2. Bree says:

I don’t like them because they’re Uggs. But they’re very similar to the iconic LL Bean Bean Boots.

  3. Sarah says:

    Not. Cool.

  4. These feel so LL Bean to me. In a retro way. They sort of make me want to fishing…

  5. Rachel says:

Yeah, I don’t really think these are so bad. I’m not going to wear them, but I wouldn’t think it a faux pas is someone else did.

  6. firecracker says:

they’re ugg’s version of the LLBean duck boot, not so much of the top sider family. classic new england prep, rather than classic southern style.

the reason the duck boot is so loved is not necessarily its look, but its versatility and ability to get drenched. a sheepskin lining destroys that. perhaps this unfortunately ubiquitous brand can go the same route as croc: AWAY.

The Mondays: March 18, 2024

This weekend was a tricky one. The warm weather and bright sunshine of last weekend disappeared in a flurry of wet snow trapping our very active 18-month-old in the house with us. Plus, our babysitter cancelled, so neither of us feels ready for the week ahead. But in between making mac-and-cheese and watching Aristocats for […]
