Belle's B-Day Wish List: Part IV

May 28, 2010

Yesterday, we covered dresses that I would want to wear to work.  Today, we’ll be looking at some dresses that are perfect for play.  Oh, and sequins.  We know how I feel about sequins…

FCUK Sequin Dress (Asos, $271)

Pale gold sequins, 3/4 sleeves, mini dress.  Yes, please.

Lela Rose Threaded Sheath (ShopBop, $1,595)

This pretty appliqued dress is perfect for a dinner out with friends.  I’d add a rustic men’s belt and a flat sandal for casual events.  If you want to dress it up, I would add a cuff bracelet and a metallic gladiator platform.

Jenni Kayne Fan Dress (ShopBop, $595)

It is my sincerest hope that Rent the Runway will start carrying Jenni Kayne.  Her styles are modern without being too bold.  Plus, I love yellow.

Milly Printed Chiffon Maxi (Net-a-Porter, $545)

Need something extra special for a casual summer wedding?  A wedding at a vineyard perhaps?  Yes, I think I might be wearing this to Miss M’s wedding.

Tiered Poplin Dress (BCBG, $238 + 30%off)

This is the kind of dress that I would buy to throw on for those unexpected dinners and drink dates.  Not with those shoes though. Yikes.

Antik Batik Walice Gown (Net-a-Porter, $970)

Gorgeous.  Different.  And probably weighs 20 pounds.

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
