Belle's B-Day Wish List: Part III

May 27, 2010

While I own several nice suits, the pieces in my wardrobe that get the most wear are the dresses.  I wear a dress almost every day, so it’s important to keep refreshing the supply.  Perhaps, if I win the lottery or some anonymous blog reader is feeling very generous (wink, wink), I could add one of these dresses to my wardrobe.

Karen Millen Colourblock Shirtdress ($350)

I featured this dress on the 10th Commandment not too long ago, and my love for the piece still hasn’t wavered.  The color comination is simple but divine.

Alberta Ferretti Dress (TheOutnet, $386)

What are Belle’s two favorite colors: purple and grey.  I love when I don’t have to make the tough choices.

Chris Benz Marilyn Dress (ShopBop, $1,075)

I looove Chris Benz.  He has a great eye for construction.  This dress is a bold shape and an even bolder color.  Just add a nude belt and look out world, here she comes.

Milly Samantha Dress (Bloomingdale’s, $315)

This dress is a bit more casual than the others, but it would still be perfect for a no-vote Monday or recess.  Add a colored necklace and some nud shoes for a polished but relaxed work outfit.

Moschino Cheap and Chic Crepe Dress (Net-a-Porter, $1,520)

This dress has a relaxed fit that would be perfect for those post fundraiser mornings when you’re feeling a little, uh…swollen and tired.  You could add a belt, but I would recommend a long necklace, or twelve.

Completely unrelated question…. should I wear panty hose with skirts/dresses this summer? I’m an intern and still trying to figure appropriate work attire… thanks!

I would thoroughly enjoy about a half dozen from Karen Millen store

Beauty Review: Bondi Boost

As I age, I notice many changes in my body. Most are fine. Some are frustrating. Like many women, I lost a lot of hair in my postpartum phase. Being anemic for more than a year after, it didn’t grow back in to its former glory. So I’ve tried any number of shampoos, pills and […]

I remember when Rochelle Behrens launched The Shirt — a button-down blouse with anti-gape technology (a patented internal button that keeps the look smooth). The idea seemed brilliant, but at the time, my bust didn’t require an extra button. One baby later, I understand the need for some extra security.

The Mondays: March 18, 2024

This weekend was a tricky one. The warm weather and bright sunshine of last weekend disappeared in a flurry of wet snow trapping our very active 18-month-old in the house with us. Plus, our babysitter cancelled, so neither of us feels ready for the week ahead. But in between making mac-and-cheese and watching Aristocats for […]
