Belle's B-Day Wish List: Part I

May 24, 2010

As you might imagine, I do a lot of window shopping on the Interwebs.  And very often, I find items that I would love to post on the blog, but they don’t fit neatly into a post.  Thus, I thought that since my birthday is happening very soon, I would post them as a kind of birthday present wish list.  Sure, it’s unlikely that anyone will buy these things for me, but a girl can hope (wink, wink—nudge, nudge—hint, hint).

Since I was in junior high, I’ve been obsessed with jackets.  Next to dresses, they are my favorite item of clothing.  Here are some of the perfectly tailored pieces that make my heart go pitter-pat.

Silk Blend Ruffle Jacket (TheOutnet, $598.50)

It’s pink and it’s Valentino; what else is there to explain?

Vivienne Westwood Portrait Collar Jacket (TheOutnet, $615)

The detailing, the pleating, the construction, the crazy portrait collar, I want it all.  And since it’s a delicate grey pinstripe, this suit/jacket would be totally appropriate for the Hill.

Hanami Cropped Jacket (Anthropologie, $88)

Delicate and pretty, this floral eyelet jacket is far more stylish than its price point might indicate.  I’m also obsessed with the pale pink color for summertime.

Donna Karan Tulle Jacket (Net-a-Porter, $2,695)

I posted this jacket months ago, but I’m still hopelessly in love with it.  Mixing the rigid shape of a tailores hacket with the soft, airy appeal of tulle is just genius.

Vince Asymmetrical Jacket (ShopBop, $945)

This kidskin jacket is perfect for the warm weather months.  It adds a little rocker chic to summer dresses and pencil skirts if you want to take a risk with your office attire.
