Anthropologie Fail

May 17, 2010

From a reader:

I’m not for cats on clothing, but isn’t the “Feline Frenzy Shirt” actually covered in raccoons??  Somebody at Anthropologie should be embarrassed.

It appears that in the 48 hours since I initially wrote this post, Anthropologie realized their failure and renamed the shirt the “Raccoon Rumpus Blouse.”  Yeah, because the name was the biggest thing wrong with the shirt.

Raccoons? Seriously?!?!

It’s a shame that they chose that fabric because the shape of the blouse seems very flattering.

  2. Daisy says:

Agreed, MAA. Before I could tell what the print was I quite liked the top. That’s really too bad.

  3. LiLu says:

Agreed. It’s super cute… IF it wasn’t covered with rabid rodents…

  4. Cori Sue says:

Mind you, I love Anthropologie, and more particularly Leifsdottir, one of their brands. They also have the monkey forest skirt, which should be called the “angry scary nasty monkey skirt.”

This is hilarious! What’s more, it has gotten five star reviews on the website!

I think the “rabid rodents” are really cute!

The Find: Shirts That Don’t Gape

I remember when Rochelle Behrens launched The Shirt — a button-down blouse with anti-gape technology (a patented internal button that keeps the look smooth). The idea seemed brilliant, but at the time, my bust didn’t require an extra button. One baby later, I understand the need for some extra security.
