"Curvy Models" at Prada

Feb 26, 2010

First off, I want to applaud Prada for showcasing a variety of body types during their runway show.  And this model is more shapely than your average stick thin, teenage runway model, but if this is what the fashion industry considers curvy, we’re all in trouble.

I think those clothes look just as good on those models as they do on the negative zero models. I don’t buy the "clothes hang better on a thinner body" BS at all. YOU wear the clothes, not vise versa.

WOW! Kudos to Prada- but I agree- size 8 is curvy? I guess it could be worse if Prada would have used the "plus size" in lieu of curvy.

Prada rocks! Finally, we average-sized ladies can get a sense of how runway fashions would REALLY look! Brilliant, just brilliant!

Scary, indeed, especially as that pic is of Doutzen Kroes, who is a size 4-6! For better or worse, the average American is a size 14. Even for myself, as a busty size 10-12, I find it hard to find good quality, well made, stylish and affordable clothing. It’s difficult to visualize "a look" when all the examples one sees are of size 0-2.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
