Four New Year's Eve Dress You Can Afford

Dec 21, 2009

If you’re planning to ring in the New Year in style, then you need a fabulous dress.  What if you could find the perfect cocktail dress for a price that didn’t make you cringe?  Luckily, the miracle of the Interwebs can help you find a chic party dress at a great price.

Thread Social CityScape Print Dress (ShopBop, $149)

JAX Satin Tube Dress (Nordstrom, $158)

Bow Sequin Dress (Arden B., $88)

Garnet Sheath Dress (White House, Black Market, $168)

In addition to finding a cost-conscious dress, you can jazz up an old dress with a sparkly belt or a fabulous brooch.  You can also mix in a pair of new shoes in a fun color to add flair to your LBD.  Or you can search YouTube for tips on how to do something new with your hair or makeup instead of spending money on a new dress.

Still want something new?  Try Rent the Runway.  For anywhere between $50 and $250, you can rent a designer dress for a fraction of the price.  The company has great customer service allowing you to choose multiple sizes in case one doesn’t fit, rent a second dress for $25 just in case, and offering you a rental fee refund if the dress doesn’t fit.  It’s a great way to get the perfect dress for your night out without spending a lot of money.

The Find: Bright and Striped

For the past few years, the wardrobes of many influencers have tilted toward the beige and boring.  I’m all for a good basic, but staple pieces can only take you so far.  Sometimes, you need to wear something that has a little something extra, and this sale-priced tee certainly does.
