Like many women, my wedding was outside. And while the lake was a beautiful backdrop for the ceremony, many female guests had difficulty walking from the lodge to their seats because high heels and grass do not mix. Here are five pairs of shoes that can carry you from the outdoor venue to the dance floor in comfort and style (without sinking you up to your ankles in dirt).
Loeffler Randall Camelia Sandal ($395)
These are a really stylish, cool shoe. When they first released them a few years back, I wasn’t sure how the style would age. My concern was that they would look done and dated after a bit. But the style still wears well. Lots of colors.
Dolce Vita Gemini Wedges ($130)
At 2/34 inches, these wedges are the perfect thing for an outdoor, casual or relaxed cocktail wedding. (What’s the difference? No one at a casual wedding has on a jacket.) They will also look great with every summer sundress you own.
27 Edit Idriss Block Heel Sandal ($120)
The 27 Edit is Naturalizer’s answer to comfort for women under-45. This pair have a wide block heel to keep you from sinking in the dirt. They also come in several colors to pair with any outfit. If they’re sold out in your size, try Nordstrom. These shoes also come in wide widths.
Christen Block Heel from Jewel ($109)
These knotted sandals look great, come in all three metallic shades, and are selling out. Fast. They’re already gone at Zappos and Nordstrom. So snap them up before Macy’s sells out also.
Analisa Double Strap Heels ($89)
If you need something besides an ankle strap (it can make people look shorter by hacking them off at the ankles), these Faryl block heels sandals are the ticket. They come in 14 colors. So you may “need” more than one.

Secra sandals are great if you need flat sandals for a wedding! Super comfy out of the box, danced all night.
