What I Bought at the Spring 2023 Sephora Sale

Apr 14, 2023

It’s that time again, the VIB sale at Sephora is here.  Rouge members can begin saving 20% today.  VIBs and Insiders can begin saving 15% or 10% on the 18th.  This tiered sale is good chance to stock up on staples, or try something new.  Here are my best picks.

Before I start, I want to mention that I picked up my ‘forever repurchases.’  These include the Dr. Jart masks, the Dr. Jart correcting cream, Glossier Boy Brow, and several CaliRay mascara minis.

I prefer lip products with a light, balm texture to glosses or lipsticks.  This Lawless Tinted Lip Balm gives your lips a light plumping, moisturizes like a balm, and comes in a lot of phenomenal colors.  This mauve rose is a great dark pink.  I also love the taupe nude for something more neutral.

I received the Saie powder brush as a gift.  I liked it so much, that I just picked up the foundation brush.  The bristles are really nice quality, and I like that they’re densely packed.

Whether you like a matte or shimmer finish, Laura Mercier’s long wear cream eyeshadow stick has what you need.  They make eyeshadow application very easy.

Need a spot treatment for the occasional blemish?  This Skinfix BHA and Azelaic Acid treatment has kaolin clay and a niacinamide to heal irritated skin.  The product claims to greatly reduce a blemish in two days time.

My hair has started growing back in postpartum, and it’s coming back in thinner.  Less than ideal.  I wanted to try Nutrafol, but not at full price.  The capsules allegedly assist regrowth and diminish thinning.  They also have other formulas for women and men, including a vegan formula.

The Find: A Versatile Sweater Jacket

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.

The Range: Spring Blouses for Work (or Zoom)

Since Sloane was born, I’ve fallen hard into a black, white, and blue wardrobe. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but as spring blooms, I need a little color in my wardrobe (and probably a little print too). Here are a few tops that caught my eye for work.
