The Best Things from Amazon: The Armrest Tray

Jul 12, 2022

Last week, I felt like I had so many great blogging ideas but no energy to write about them.  Pregnancy is hard.  Being an associate attorney is hard.  Add in a side hustle and all the other tasks and errands of life, and I’m pretty worn out.  So let’s try again shall we?

Like many homes built in the middle part of the century, my home has long, narrow rooms.  We bought a sectional sized to solve the seating woes caused by rectangular room shapes, but it left us without room for end tables.  So my husband often puts his drink on the floor, only to have it felled by dog or human feet.

Enter the armrest tray.  The hinged clamps mean in grips on to almost any size armrest (even one like ours that isn’t completely flat), and the surface is big enough for a drink, your phone, and the remote.  I loved it so much, I bought one for the other armrest.

The manufacturer makes several colors and styles — white octagon, a diamond-like shape with a built-in tablet holder, or a marble-printed composite one.  Regardless of which style you choose, the utility of the item is 10/10.

Yes! I tried a martini table, but my husband and kid knocked THAT over also. Excited to try this.

This looks way classier than the media room couches that have cupholders in them, either visibly or from a cushion that folds down into a table, like a carseat. When I see that I have to remind myself not to judge. But then I, like your husband, find myself on our own furniture, without easy access to end tables or a clear spot on the end table. And I think, darn, that person with that media couch really knew what was up.

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
