My Favorite Things from Ann Taylor

Jun 8, 2022

Several years ago, a newspaper article asked why DC women wear so much Ann Taylor.  The answer then, as now, was that very few retailers make work-appropriate clothes that women with professional jobs can wear and afford.  And while I don’t understand why AT felt the need to sell so much linen this summer (seriously, people, wrinkles), there are still plenty of great pieces for work and weekend.

I bought this Flutter Sleeve Dress hoping that it will be long enough to cover my belly.  It was just too cute to resist, and since the model is probably 5’10,” I might be alright.

These Flat Mother of Pearl Earrings are tremendous.  I adore them.

Linen is not my favorite fabric, but a woven, linen cardigan is a great option for summer when the AC is too cold and outside is too hot.

I ordered this cap sleeve shirt dress for next summer.  It came, and I lovingly put in a box in my closet as visions of sugar plums danced in my head.  It’s that good.  Get on the waitlist for the restock.  It’s the perfect dress up, dress down dress.

If you need a summer suit, I appreciate that this cotton suit is more porcelain than white.  (Also in petite and tall.)  That slight darkening makes it more wearable.  Pair it with this great, high-waist pencil skirt.

These Cork Wedges are just the bomb.  Summer weddings on grass are now conquered.

You ladies always tell me there are not enough a-line skirts for sale.  Well, this dress, in a great red hue, has your preferred shape.  As does this simple, sleeveless black number.  And this white belted number is lovely too.
