Back to Basics: Affordable Blazers

Jul 13, 2021

If you told me two years ago that I would be shopping for blazers at Express, I would have called you a liar.  But with the pandemic causing retailers to cut way back on their professional offerings, Express is the one of the few places consistently producing blazers.

The quality of the two blazers I’ve purchased is solidly Mango-or-better.  The prices are affordable, with many styles going on sale.  And the cuts and colors usually fit into any wardrobe.  Here are a few worth checking out.

This sleek, fitted Peak Lapel Blazer comes in black, charcoal, and light grey.  It’s also 50% off.

I bought this Boyfriend Blazer because I wanted a camel jacket for fall.  It’s an easy throw on piece for Zoom calls or casual days.  Would also look great over a simple black sheath dress.

This Belted Blazer is an awesome piece for professional or casual wear.  So sleek, great over a t-shirt or a dress, and flattering on days when you feel ‘meh’ about your body.  Still available in all sizes XXS to XL.

I have a blazer I purchased from Express years ago and I still wear. It is well constructed and I even throw it in the washing machine! I don’t ever buy anything else at Express but I can endorse their blazers!

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
