Work Week: A Blouse for All Seasons

Nov 5, 2020

Burnout.

No, not that kind.

Velvet burnout, the technique that makes this Boden blouse perfectly chic.  Burnout blouses are a little sheer, a little sultry, and yet, still professional.  And this one is fantastic.

This Dalmatian-Dot Burnout Blouse from Boden is the ideal blouse for work, weekend, or evening.  Yep, it’s that good (and check back later for some styling tips).

This blouse is super feminine, with mini-ruffles on the cuffs.  The v-neck is flattering on most figures.  And if you love the fabric, they also make it in a pretty a-line dress.

This blouse runs up to size 22.  For a petite option, this Banana Republic Factory blouse is a nice option (also a more affordable misses choice).

Other sheer-dot or burnout shirts I recommend, include this button-up from Marks and Spencer and this clip-dot top from Express with a delicate ruffle on the shoulder.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
