The Find: A Slouchy Sweater

Jan 21, 2020

The Free People Ottoman Sweater is my absolute favorite.  I love the slouchy, oversize shape and the relaxed feel.  But it’s a little bit pricey, and sells out very quickly. (Free People has a limited selection, but just restocked in black.)  This Amazon sweater has the same vibe for less.

I bought this Anrabees Tunic to give my Free People sweaters a break.  It has the same relaxed feel and looks great on.  It’s longer than the Free People, so it’s great with ponte skinny pants, jeans, or faux-leather leggings.

As much as I love my Free People sweaters, this one is just as good.  It’s the perfect throw on sweater.  I own it in this dark green, and I just bought it in the ivory.  My plan is to get through the rest of the winter wearing slouchy sweaters and skinny pants.

How is the sizing on this sweater? I know the Free People runs large.

    • Belle says:

I bought a small, and it’s a little larger in the bust and waist than I would like. Typically a large 4 in most tops.

  2. Andrea says:

Do you wear a camisole or anything similar under it, or it is comfortable without that layer? How do you think it would look on someone who is pretty busty? I’m always conflicted about flowy / oversized tops because of that.

    • Belle says:

The fabric is soft enough to wear without a tank, and I can’t see my bra lines if I don’t wear one. I would say if you’re concerned, a light layer won’t feel too heavy.

Weren’t you going to check off this sweater as a Free People Ottoman alternative? https://www.amazon.com/Cable-Stitch-Womens-Sweater-Large/dp/B07YLFXY3H/ref=sr_1_8

    • Belle says:

It never came. Ship date was pushed back three weeks, and then cancelled. If anyone received theirs, I’d love to hear what people thought.

The Find: A Versatile Sweater Jacket

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.
