It’s incredible how tastes can change. 15 years ago, I could never have imagined that I would once day love animal prints. Leopard and cheetah were worn by flamboyant characters in mob movies. Fast forward to today, half of my shoes are animal print.
I’ve been considering buying a leopard coat for some time, but finding the right one has proven challenging. Some are too loud. Some are too busy. Others are just way too expensive for a trendy piece. But this one from Old Navy evokes all the boldness of leopard, but with an elegant, subtle color palette.
This Relaxed Soft-Brush Leopard Coat (also in tall) comes in soft color palette called truffle, a mix of taupe and grey. The coat is a nice mix of dressy and casual. The shape is relaxed and easy, while the funnel-neck has a chic, sportiness to it.
Plus-size? Try this gunmetal grey coat from Michael Kors. Petite? I didn’t find an exact price/style match, but this Express coat is close.

I’m an hourglass and found the fit of this coat terribly unflattering. The shoulders are too narrow and the waist is huge. Also the print was a lot more brown in person.
I’m totally with you on the animal print obsession! And yes, it is been so hard to find an animal print coat… some make me look like I’m wearing a leopard bathrobe and others are too bulky and unflattering. I would love to see a coat in the traditional gold and dark brown colors. Have you come across any close seconds to this grey one?
Is the coat warm?
Unsure.
I just bought this and am in love. It is warm enough, cozy and much more chic in person than in the picture.
