1) Could the time crunch be the reason more women don’t ‘lean in’? (CIO)

2) I would wear this For Love & Lemons lace bra under a black v-neck sweater for a casual weekend look.

3) Gift-wrapping hacks to solve all your holiday gift giving needs. (Refinery29)

4) Need an easy party-ready eye look?  Try Stila’s Magnificent Metals Liquid Eyeshadow.  So gorgeous.

5) 15 Work Resolutions for Career Women in 2017. (Refinery29)

6) If you love prints, check out LOFT’s Tulip Blouse.  If solids are your speed, this Stitchy Boatneck is awesome.

7) A rain boot roundtable: are they necessary?  Are they stylish?  And why don’t men wear them? (Racked)

8) BCBG makes the best belts.  I love this bold plate belt, and this pale pink loop belt.  Perfect with sheath dresses.

9) The stories of what happened when women went public with allegations of sexual harassment. (Fortune)

10) Karen Millen has made a work dress that is a drop-dead-gorgeous stunner.  Wow.

Bonus: The lessons of Aleppo, when political interests overcome virtue we all suffer. (Economist)

I agree rain boots (like hunter) are totally unnecessary unless you live on a farm or in true countryside. I live in London where it is famous for rain, and I’ve never once seen a woman wearing them on a commute. At her parent’s country house, yes, on the train, never.

  2. Jenn S. says:

I agree on rainboots. I love the idea of them, but the execution never quite works well, and there are other footwear pieces that are better-suited that don’t restrict your ankle’s ability to function as intended.

  3. Monica T says:

I have a muddy backyard. where I wear some ugly Keen rain boots because I can hose them off easily and pull them on over leggings when I have to go pick up after the dogs or or take out the trash or going for a walk in the rain with my daughter. I have not successfully or happily worn these out of the my neighborhood. So while I think they do have a use, I do not consider them as part of my real wardrobe. Utilitarian, plain and simple.

Saw It On Social: Rooted

A few months ago, my husband killed two of my plants. I was out of town for several weeks, and while I was away, he apparently forgot that plants need water to live. So when I returned, my snake plant and my Calamondin tree were both dead, while his braided money tree continued to thrive. […]
