Ask Belle: Jewelry for Silver Lovers

Mar 7, 2013

When I was younger, I wore nothing but silver jewelry.  There wasn’t a piece of yellow metal in my jewelry box.  Fast forward eight years, and I’ve done a complete 180.  Now, all I gravitate to is yellow and rose gold.  But I know not everyone feels that way, so by popular demand, here are some silver pieces that I really like.

From Left, Circle Link Chain ($38) // Tahari Cuff Bracelet ($65) // Lagos Venus Square Ring ($195) // Soho Pearl Drop ($38) // Tahari Cable Bezel Ring ($38) // Double Layer Pendant ($38) // Double Silver Spike Bracelet ($26) // Silver Filigree Drops ($52) // Robert Rose Helix Bangle ($22) //  Turquoise Studs ($28) // Signature Circle Ring ($98)

Long Necklaces. I love a delicate long necklace.  It’s how I channel Olivia Pope in my daily life.  I also like this Kenneth Cole necklace for ($45) and this Kohl’s version for $17.

Open Work Cuffs. I like the metal work on this bracelet because it gives the cuff a certain lightness.  I also like this geometric cuff from Express for $30.

Stone Rings.  I fell hard for this ring when I saw it.  The faceted stone and the details in the band are fab.  If you’d like something cheaper, I also like this pale green ring. And just because I can, I also want to post this gorgeous green cabochon ring.

Long Drops.  Because silver has a subtler look than gold, a bit more volume is needed to create drama.  I also love these Judith Jack Long Linear earrings (so chic!) and these inexpensive pave earrings.  If you like the pearls, I found these very similar earrings for $7.

Cable Ring. I love David Yurman rings, but they are so pricey.  This wallet-friendly cable ring with pave detail gives you that look without the bank account damage.  I also liked this $100 Pandora ring.

Layered Necklaces.  I love the look of wearing necklaces of different lengths together, but necklaces like the one above take the guess work out of the process. I also like this Gorjana set.

Two Tone Jewelry.  Blending yellow gold with silver is easiest if you have a unifying item, a piece that has both.  I also like this fern leaf necklace and these stud earrings.

Filigree Earrings. I absolutely adore the elaborate scroll work in these earrings. I also like these teardrop stone earrings and these Belissima wire earrings are a bit more subtle.  I think the filigree is a nice alternative to pave crystals for dressier events.

Statement Bracelet.  This wire bracelet is to.die.for.  So much style for $22.  I also love this mesh knot bracelet and this House of Harlow bracelet is pretty cool too.

Turquoise and silver is a classic combination–it can be boho, it can be sophisticated.  The marcasite work on these Judith Jack studs is chic, and the delicate metal work on these drops is phenom.

Simple Rings. A large ring in a simple shape is the kind of piece that you can wear every day.  If you’d like something smaller Ariella has some inexpensive open-work rings like this clover and this star.

Thanks for the silver post! You have some lovely gold choices in your picks, but I’m an all-silver girl.

Saw It On Social: Rooted

A few months ago, my husband killed two of my plants. I was out of town for several weeks, and while I was away, he apparently forgot that plants need water to live. So when I returned, my snake plant and my Calamondin tree were both dead, while his braided money tree continued to thrive. […]
