Ask Belle: Some Bridal Glitz and Glamour

Whether it’s the homespun goodness of Emerson Made or the simple stylings of J.Crew, I love floral accessories.  There’s just something about their big opulent petals that makes me feel more feminine.

Recently, a friend asked if I would help her find some floral accessories for her wedding gown.  But even though I presented her with upwards of 25 options, nothing seemed to work.  For inspiration, she gave me the above photo and asked me try again.

Jennifer Behr is a renowned headband designer famous for creating most of the headbands worn by Blair Waldorf and the Mean Girls on the hit television show, Gossip Girl.  Recently, Behr decided to branch out and design a line for brides who wanted something other than a veil for their wedding day.  Below are some of my favorites from the line.

This is the headband that my friend chose.  It’s big, it’s frilly, and it will go perfectly with her sleek gown.

I like the art deco, Roaring Twenties feel of this piece.  And while it’s special enough for your big day, you could also wear it with your party dresses.

What can I say?  I’m a sucker for a birdcage veil.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
