BPGP: Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes! Mascara

Mar 17, 2010

Ever since Max Factor decided to discontinue their US product line, I’ve been on a quest to find a new mascara.  But since my lashes could best be described as limp and anemic, this has been something of a challenge.  Recently, however, I received a free sample of Tarte’s Lights Camera Lashes Mascara (Sephora, $19) and I am pleasantly surprised by the results.

From the Tarte Website:

This is what we call a push-up bra for your lashes™ a 4-in-1 (lengthening, curling, volumizing and conditioning) dermatologist tested mascara that gives dramatic, thick, sexy lashes and is clinically proven to increase lash volume by 424%.

While I can’t speak to the claims of four-times more volume, I will say that the mascara certainly gives my lashes extra oomph.  I also like that the shape of the brush allows me to get every little lash.  This is especially important for adding volume to the lashes in the corner of the eye.

So if you’re looking for a new mascara that delivers monster lashes without flaking off halfway through your day, this mascara may be for you. I fully intend to keep buying this product once my sample runs out, as this is the first mascara that I have tried in years that didn’t disappoint after an initial honeymoon phase.

And if you’ve noticed that I’ve been reviewing a lot of Tarte Products lately, that’s because my last Sephora order came with deluxe samples of several of their offerings.  I particularly like the Tarte Apple-a-Day moisturizing gloss as well.  The raspberry colored sheen seems to look good on just about everyone.

    Belle,

Have you tried Maybelline’s Full and Soft Mascara in the waterproof formula? It gives my lashes serious oomph without looking brittle or spidery, no matter how many coats I layer. I have been a devotee for probably five or six years now, and you can’t beat the $8 price tag!

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
