The Range: Striped, Relaxed Sweaters

Jan 15, 2025

There are many things that I don’t love about the current state of fashion. I hate cropped shirts. I hate thin fabrics. I hate that everything has puffed sleeves (and I love a puffed sleeve, but I don’t always need to look like I’ve been pumping iron with Arnold). I hate, hate that barrel leg jeans are back.

But I do love how this younger generation of fashion girlies is making relaxed cool again. They want the comfort of the leggings and sweats, but they want to look chic and pulled together. And these chunky, striped sweaters are a great example of a piece you can wear today and wear in May.

Soooo with you on the hate for barrel leg jeans and crop tops. No one older than 25 can wear those.

As for quality, don’t get me started… who would of thought we’d be saying the quality of items made in the 90s were better than now!? Might as well go back to making our own clothes again. *sigh* Moving into buying most things from consignment at this point.

Bought a very good Sezane dupe from Tahari at TJ Maxx!

So with you on the crop shirt/short wide sweater trend. I’m older than 25 and have a long torso. Anything like that is ridiculous on me. Love the sweaters you found.

Hi – i’m so with you on disliking cropped shirts, barrel jeans, puffed sleeves and thin fabrics. I really think manufacturers feel they have to come up with something different every year so they throw it out there and hope it sticks. The stuff they are throwing out there this year and last is horrible!

Unrelated but what backpack do you all recommend for work? I got a Kenneth Cole Reaction nylon backpack a little over a year ago and it is already fraying. I have a 16″ Macbook Pro. Is the Tumi backpack worth it? Cheaper options?
